Contains a portion of Hatch's autobiography covering his military years and the courting of his wife. Discusses his work on military plane designs for Boeing in Seattle, which earned him a deferment from active service, and his involvement with the LDS Church in the Seattle area. Discusses his hobbies, friendships, induction in the Navy, and training as an electrical technician. Also describes his short time on Navy ships in the Pacific Theater. Includes a narrative describing the fulfillment of promises of safety within Hatch's patriarchal blessing. Majority of collection describes his relationship with his wife: their meeting, courting, marriage, and life during the war. Includes letters between Hatch and his wife and journal entries from each. Numerous photocopied photographs throughout show Hatch in military settings and with his wife.
